This activity goes a little differently every time I teach this class
depending on the particular group of students. Some are very comfortable
with Mathematica and find it very cool while others need a little more
help. This activity took one class period with some work having to be
finished outside of class. I did talk to them about the expectation that
they would work on Mathematica outside of class by coming back
to the computer labs later in the day. There are not a lot of activities
where we ask them to do that but there are a few. It's always fun to
hear a few students genuinely amazed at the fact that they can see their
modeling function show up on top of their data :) Nothing went very
different from expected on this one. |
